My Introduction

Hello my follow classmates at Wayne State in IET6230. My name is Gerald Lickey, Jerry, and I am working on my second master in CTE administration at Wayne State and should be switching it over to a PhD in CTE during this semester. My short term goal is to become my districts CTE director when our current directors retires in the next two or three years and my long term goal is become the states CTE director in Michigan. I have been a CTE instructor for going on 8 years after being in the automotive repair industry for over 27 years. I have been married to my lovely wife for 26 years and we have two black labs, but no kids. Since my switch from industry to education I have, for the most part, enjoyed it other then all the paperwork during Sept thru June. I have lived in Michigan all my life and love the weather in the state, where else can you go from sun and 60 one day to cold and 0 the next day? Looking forward to learning how to use technology in my current and future CTE jobs.

Nice to meet you! I like your goals. I sat in on the Common Core subcommittee meetings this summer and listened to Mike Flanagan talk about the role technology will take progressively in the future for our K-12 schools. This is an exciting time.
